What is Moore Balance & Brain Power?
This class combines balance training, functional strengthening, movement activities, and cognitive exercises designed to challenge both your body and your brain.
You might be wondering, “Why balance and brain exercises together?”
Balance isn’t just about standing on one foot. Your brain is constantly processing information from your eyes, inner ear, muscles, and joints to help your body understand where it is in space and how to respond to its surroundings. Cognitive skills such as attention, reaction time, and divided attention can also play an important role in how we move and maintain our balance.
In fact, falls are the leading cause of injury among adults 65 and older, making balance and fall prevention an important part of maintaining independence as we age (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2024).
Moore Balance & Brain Power gives you an opportunity to work on these skills in a supportive, structured environment while also building strength for everyday activities.
What does the class include?
• Balance-improving exercises
• Cognitive and brain exercises
• Activities that challenge coordination and reaction time
• Exercises designed to support everyday movement and independence
• A complementary balance assessment when you begin the class
Classes are held every Monday and Wednesday at 11:30 AM at Moore Fitness.
Your initial balance assessment is included with access to the class, with quarterly re-measurements included when you repurchase a class package, this is so you can track the progress you’ve made since starting.
