“The Garage” was Gold Canyon’s first (and only at the time) real pizza place. It offered the simple mix of good beer, great pizza and a lively social environment that the locals loved.
There was a bowl of peanuts on every table, peanut shells strewn across the floor, two pool tables fighting for space in the crowded eating area and music if anyone wanted it.
Simple, sociable and fun.
“The Garage” was located just off the south side verge of the 60, almost directly opposite the cut through of the median is at the Gold Canyon Cafe plaza. At the time, there was only “The Garage” and a little store selling cacti and garden pots on that entire strip of land from lights at Basha’s to the fire house.
Unfortunately, “The Garage” was lost to history when the owners decided to sell and the new development of that strip that now houses the Car Wash, the new Business Centre and an extension to the RV Park wall took place.
We’d love to be able to post more memories of “The Garage” if anyone has old photo’s of the building, it’s owners or just any pics indicative of the happy times many experienced at one of Gold Canyon’s original night spots.
