Have someone take a look at those trees that are within falling distance of your house or the street!!!
Virtually every neighborhood in Gold Canyon and the surrounding communities benefits from having an HOA … and we do actually benefit from having them in many ways. We do however, all like to complain from time to time (and oftentimes with some justification) about what the HOA hasn’t done or requires us to do (or not do) in relation to the upkeep and maintenance of our own property. On the whole however, HOA’s serve a meaningful and positive purpose.
The one area where commonly arising HOA rules can be criticized to the point of them needing to be torn apart and discarded relates to the almost universal HOA requirement to have homeowners plants trees in their yards from species that are capable of growing far too large for the available yard space and far too tall to survive the “micro-bursts” that are common in these parts.
The only defense against that large tree in your yard from being uprooted or damaged by the next storm and either falling onto your house or into the path of passing vehicles is to make sure that it is properly trimmed and thinned prior to the next storm hitting.
Failure to spend out on tree care can prove to be false economy when compared to the costs and liability associated with a tree coming down unexpectedly.
Gold Canyon and the surrounding 85118 communities are fortunate in having a number of good local, tree service providers who are ready, willing and able to offer free inspections and no-obligation price estimates for any and all required tree work necessary to minimize the potential for storm damage to arise. Indeed, one of the best (Gold Canyon Barracuda) has partnered with GCO to offer a Tree Trimming Special during the month of August this year that offers $50 off any work undertaken.
Why not have that tree checked out at the very least. Simply call the BLH-GC help desk on 480-628-4462 to schedule a no-cost, no-obligation assessment and estimate.
